DEDICATED TO FOUNDER RALPH RANSOM
"ONE INCREDIBLE HUMAN BEING"
BORN - MAY 5, 1932
PASSED - JUNE 7, 2008
Building A Better World (BABW) started long before it acquired Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, 501 (c) (3) status or a Board of Directors. The idea started in 1981 with the publication of the book Steps on the Stairway by Ralph Ransom. From this book a desire to continue enriching as many people as possible with thoughts of love, hope encouragement and wisdom. Soon one page messages, leaflets, cards and booklets were being written and shared under the name of Building A Better World.
Almost from the very beginning BABW became international. The messages were not only passed from person to person in the U.S. but were also being shared among people in other countries. This continued for 18 fruitful years. The more formal and official foundation began in 1999. On July 12, 1999, the State of Texas approved BABW Articles of Incorporation. On October 19, 1999 the Internal Revenue Service approved our Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws, and certified BABW as a 510 (c) (3) non profit organization.
HOW OUR BOARD MEMBERS ARE SELECTED
The three criteria for asking a person to serve on the BABW board or to be a staff member are:
(1) They are idea people. They are creative thinkers.
(2) They are people who work on their goals. They do more than think, they act. They bring their inner dreams into outer reality by preserving until their ideas bear fruit.
(3) They are people persons. They are interested in people and realize that we are all brothers and sisters. They use the energy of their life to help, enrich and nourish people.
BABW board members and staff have may other wonderful qualities, but they are asked to work because they possess these three special qualities.
BABW is working in many different areas to help people have a better life. When you help BABW the value of your gift grows because as it touches more and more people they in turn get involved in helping other people. Your investment lives on, enriching each new generation, enabling them to live in peace and love, sharing the resources that belong to us all.
